Sinclair Gas Station

Today's photo is one of a very unique place that I got to visit with my parents during a trip back home to Indiana a few weeks back.  While on a motorcycle ride they came across this hidden gem of a tourist attraction in Cassopolis, Michigan.  I had to do some Google magic to find out a little bit more about it so I could share a little bit of the back story, which was covered nicely in the Cassopolis Vigilant.

The Sinclair station restoration was the brain-child of Dr. Roger Pecina, who according to the article "loved gas stations growing up".  I don't remember seeing it, but my mom told me that there was a Sinclair station that was near us when we lived in Pennsylvania.

I used some of the coloring from both Silver Efex Pro and Color Efex Pro to bring out more of a "retro" feel to what was, admittedly, already a very "retro" shot.  I took it from this angle as the brick wall of the building across the street made for a better overall photo, plus it kept a view of the street and cars passing by from being in the photo.  The sky just happened to be mostly cloudy when we drove up there, about 15 minute later there were very few clouds left in the sky, I just got incredibly lucky with the darker, more overcast sky!
